WASDA Members Attend NUCA 2017 Washington Summit
WASDA members showed up in force to support NUCA’s lobbying efforts during the 2017 Washington Summit. This year’s Summit was held May 15-18 and focused on three key industry issues, Invest in America’s Infrastructure, Workforce Development and Training, and to help Curtail Job-Killing Regulations. The NUCA and WASDA members spent the day Tuesday listening to multiple speakers including Congressman Garret Graves of the 6th District of Louisiana who spoke about his challenges as a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. That afternoon Will Brown, NUCA Director of Government Affairs, briefed the group on talking points for our House and Senate scheduled meetings.
Early Wednesday morning groups of NUCA and WASDA members descended on the offices of Congress ready to promote water and wastewater projects as a crucial part of America’s infrastructure plan. The 80 plus NUCA and WASDA members spent the next seven hours crisscrossing in the underground tunnels between the six House and Senate office buildings. A very successful day of lobbying was then capped off with a well attended cocktail party in the Rayburn House Office Building.
We appreciate the support of our WASDA members in attendance and each expressed their positive experience at the conclusion of the two day event.
