A Letter From Kristin Dunn, The New WASDA Executive Director
Dear WASDA Members,
It has been just over four weeks since I started this new journey as WASDA Executive Director. In the short amount of time I have been with your group, I’m still learning your culture and dynamics, which will only come with time, but I have observed your passion for the waterworks industry. I have interacted with some of your most dedicated volunteers. I have worked with your former wonder woman, Sarah Hagy, to understand your policies. And I look forward to learning even more from each of you.
As some background, I am coming to you with 15 years experience in association management. I entered the association world as the single staff of an international surgical association. My practical experience quickly grew in association membership acquisition and retention, financials, strategic planning, sponsor relationships, program development, and event planning. I’ve organized meetings and events domestically and around the world, keenly sensitive to the values and practices of different cultures. Dedicated to mission-based organizations and member engagement, I continued work with the American College of Physicians to further develop their global membership, and I subsequently expanded my body of knowledge in association management through work with the Project Management Institute.
I want to take this opportunity to also recognize some other new faces on my tireless team, who make it all happen behind the scenes. Kristin Evans started working as WASDA Administrative Coordinator over six months ago, Kristin E. will send you the WASDA newsletter, Fall Forum and Annual Meeting announcements, membership dues and directory reminders, and she will be your primary contact for any questions you may have on the WASDA online network or your member profile. Sarah Kovacs-Peacock is the newest face as WASDA’s Associate Director, and she will be managing WASDA Committees and their projects, the WASDA Scholarship fund, as well as our online presence and resources.
Kate Ho will continue as the events manager for both the Fall Forum and the Annual Meeting, and the entire team will be on site in Houston, where we look forward to meeting so many of you in person!
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly with any questions or concerns you may have in the meantime.
Kristin Dunn, CAE
